It is anticipated that the “Federal Indian Hospitals” settlement will begin in early 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
This process will be for individuals that were admitted to a Federal Indian Hospital and experienced psychological, verbal, physical and/or sexual abuse while at a Federal Indian Hospital.

COMPENSATION
If you were admitted to a Federal Indian Hospital and you suffered any psychological, verbal, physical and/or sexual abuse, you may be eligible for compensation ranging from $10,000 to $200,000. The amount of compensation you may be entitled to will depend on the severity of the abuse suffered while in a Federal Indian Hospital.
FILING A CLAIM
There is only one claim that can be filed and only one opportunity for compensation. Please contact us if you would like assistance with filling your claim.
LEGAL FEES ARE COVERED
The Government of Canada has agreed to pay your legal fees in an amount equal to 5% (plus tax) of the payment you may receive. This means that you can obtain our services at no cost to you and any award you may receive will not be reduced.
ESTATE CLAIMS
If you are the administrator or executor of an estate for someone who was in a Federal Indian Hospital, and they were alive on January 25, 2016, you may file a claim on their behalf if you, or someone you know, is familiar with the abuse/harms they experienced in the Federal Indian Hospital.
